She began her professional career as a Turkish language teacher at Açı Schools and later continued teaching Turkish language courses at Yeditepe University. Her research focuses on Comparative Literature and Modern Turkish Literature. She is currently a member of the Department of Education at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, where she contributes to postgraduate teaching, including modules such as Critical Education in the 21st Century, Being a Reflective Practitioner, Digital Literacies, Inclusive Education – Global Perspectives, and The Inclusive Curriculum.
